Great opportunity to own a very rare Rudy Pozzatti print titled “Leonardo and Rebuse” this is #8 of ONLY 40 of these prints. Pencil signed lower right Frame size 21”x 26”, matted size 15”x 18.75” Rudy Pozzatti American 1925- Biography Painter and printmaker Rudy Pozzatti was born in Telluride, Colorado, on January 14th 1925. He attended the University of Colorado, where he studied under Max Beckmann and Ben Shahn. He received his BFA in 1948 and MFA in 1950, and taught there on a graduate teaching fellowship. Among the grants and scholarships awarded him was a Fullbright Scholarship he received in 1952, with which he traveled to Italy, and a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1963 to study there, as well. 1954 he held his first major exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago. He was an artist in residence at Honolulu Academy of Fine Arts, Hawaii (1971) and Mishkenot, Jerusalem (1982). In 1981 he was elected to the National Academy of Design in New York, and in 1989 he received the Professor Emeritus Award by the Southeastern Graphics Association. In 1956 he began teaching at Indiana University. While there, he helped to develop one of the leading printmaking departments in the U.S., and later became Professor of Fine Arts, Emeritus (1974). Pozzatti’s work has been included in the collections of the Bibliotheque Nationale, Pairs; the Art Institute of Chicago; Boston Museum of fine Arts; Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Pushkin Museum, Moscow; Museum of Art, Sydney, Australia; Honolulu Academy of Fine Arts; and many others. He currently resides in Bloomington, Indiana
